Overview
PushFirst ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is an iOS application developed and operated from the Netherlands. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use PushFirst. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
We are committed to collecting as little data as possible. PushFirst does not require an account, does not ask for your name or email, and processes camera data entirely on your device.
Data we collect
PushFirst collects minimal data. All data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
App data stored on your device only: Your pushup counts, streaks, app blocking settings, and preferences are stored locally on your iPhone using standard iOS storage. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App.
Onboarding inputs stored on your device only: During onboarding, PushFirst asks you a series of questions to personalise your experience. These include: your goals for using the app, how screen time affects you, what best describes your daily routine (such as student, professional, or gamer), when you typically scroll most, an estimate of your daily phone usage, an age range, and a daily push-up goal. This information is used solely to calculate an estimated screen time reduction and to set your personalised starting configuration. It is stored only on your device, is never transmitted to us or any third party, and is deleted when you uninstall the App.
Data we do not collect: We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, or photos. We do not require or support account creation. No data from the App is ever transmitted to us.
TrueDepth camera and face data
PushFirst uses the iPhone's TrueDepth camera and ARKit face tracking to estimate the distance between your face and the device for the purpose of counting pushups and providing real time feedback during a session.
Important: We do not store, save, upload, or retain any TrueDepth face tracking data, depth data, face geometry, or face landmarks. This data is processed entirely on your device in real time and only while a pushup counting session is active. It is never shared with us or with any third party. It is not used for identification, authentication, profiling, advertising, or analytics.
This use complies with Apple's TrueDepth API guidelines. The camera is only accessed when you actively start a pushup session.
Purchases and subscriptions
PushFirst offers a subscription with a 7 day free trial, processed entirely through Apple's App Store using Apple's native in-app purchase system (StoreKit). We do not use any third party subscription management service.
We do not receive, store, or process any payment information. All billing, receipt validation, and subscription management is handled entirely by Apple. Your payment details are never accessible to us.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings.
Screen Time and app blocking
PushFirst uses Apple's Screen Time API (Family Controls framework) solely for the purpose of blocking and unblocking the apps you select. This is the only way to restrict app access on iOS without a jailbreak.
What Screen Time access is used for: Displaying the app picker so you can select which apps to block, and applying or removing restrictions on those apps when you earn or lose screen time.
What it is not used for: We do not read, store, log, or transmit any data about your Screen Time usage, your app usage history, or which apps you have installed. The Screen Time permission is strictly functional and scoped to app blocking only.
No Screen Time data ever leaves your device. It is never shared with us or any third party.
Push notifications
PushFirst uses iOS local notifications solely to let you quickly reopen the App from your device's Screen Time shield. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device. We do not use a push notification server or any third-party notification service. No notification-related data is sent to us or any third party.
Analytics and advertising
PushFirst does not currently use any third party analytics or advertising services. We do not display ads and we do not track you.
If we integrate analytics in the future, we will update this policy before doing so and will choose a privacy respecting solution. We will never sell your data to third parties.
Data retention
Since all your data is stored locally on your device, deleting the App removes all associated data. We do not maintain servers that store your personal information. There is no account to delete and no data to request removal of on our end.
Your rights under GDPR (European users)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights regarding your personal data. Because PushFirst does not transmit or store any data on our end, most of these rights are exercised simply by deleting the App. There is no account to delete and no data held by us to request.
Access and portability. You have the right to request a copy of any personal data we hold about you. We hold none.
Rectification and erasure. You have the right to request correction or deletion of your personal data. All data is on your device and can be deleted by uninstalling the App.
Restriction and objection. You have the right to restrict or object to the processing of your personal data. We do not process your data on our end.
Withdraw consent. Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time by uninstalling the App.
Lodge a complaint. You have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority, including the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens as the supervisory authority in our country of operation.

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
Know what personal information we collect about you and how it is used.
Delete the personal information we have collected from you.
Opt out of the sale of your personal information. PushFirst does not sell your personal information.
Non discrimination. You will not receive discriminatory treatment for exercising your privacy rights.

Children's privacy
PushFirst is available to users of all ages and is rated 4+ on the App Store. Because the App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to us (all data remains on the user's device), there are no data-related restrictions for younger users. No parental consent is required from a data collection standpoint.
Data transfers
PushFirst is operated from the Netherlands. Because all data is processed and stored locally on your device, no personal data is transferred internationally by us. Apple's App Store infrastructure handles all purchase transactions in accordance with Apple's own privacy practices and applicable regulations.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure. Because PushFirst stores your data locally on your device, the security of that data is also dependent on the security of your device.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. If the changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you through the App. Your continued use of PushFirst after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
